Position: Dispatcher contract
Location: Montreal

Our client, a global supplier of components, repair services, and supply chain solutions, is seeking a contract dispatcher specializing in logistics and transportation who will provide an exceptional customer experience and ensure that products are delivered quickly.

Day shift Monday through Friday

Work location Saint-Laurent, on-site

Salary between $20 and $28

Responsibilities:

Manage the movement of all local, domestic, and international shipments to and from Canada;

Plan and coordinate shipments and deliveries, and follow up with our suppliers;

Act as a point of contact for transportation providers;

Use equipment tracking data to process real-time information for customers (internal and external);

Verify that the appropriate harmonized codes are used for customs clearance and maintain compliance for incoming and outgoing shipments;

Ensure that the required procedures are followed for dangerous goods;

Provide timely updates on the status of information; performance of the equipment documentation and tracking service;

Coordinate customs clearance;

Handle receipt issues related to cargo or customs as they arise with the warehouse;

Update and maintain product information in relevant systems;

Communicate shipment status and updates or other information in customer databases;

Prepare and submit purchase orders to suppliers;

Prepare repair orders when required;

Perform detailed document verification;

Provide solutions to all receiving issues in coordination with the finance department;

Work in tandem with internal team members to ensure customer satisfaction;

Perform other related tasks as needed

A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience;

DEC, AEC, or certificate in supply management or certificate in logistics/transportation management, training in customs procedures, would be considered an asset;

Understanding of international cargo and customs processes;

Ability to monitor and enforce the application and updating of procedures;

Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills;

Strong organizational and prioritization skills;

Ability to work in a dynamic and demanding environment;

Proven ability to work harmoniously in a team as well as independently;

Attention to detail;

Ensure confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact at all times;
