Location: MontrealOur Montreal client, who is an importer and distributor in the fashion industry is currently looking for a full time permanent staff member to fill an immediate Logistics Manager position.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Logistics Manager will have transportation and logistics background with knowledge of supply chain through international importing/exporting. This role will involve both supply chain logistics as well as customer service. The business utilizes Visual software environment and experience with Visual is preferred though not mandatory.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for but not limited to
:
Manage relationship with Customs Broker and Carriers to ensure timely clearance of all shipmentsValidate and proof paperwork relating to imports and exports to ensure a high level of customs complianceProcess all adjustments and corrections to CBSA within the required timeframeVerification and closing of all regular shipments including LVS & HVS to ensure timely submissionBe the subject matter expert on any customs regulatory changes that may impact costs and/or risks of non-complianceMonitor shipments and troubleshoot with carriers/freight companies on any issuesManage relationship with the third party warehouse for receipt of goods in their system as well in our ERP systemInteract with international clients providing excellent customer service supportManage reporting and tracking of all distribution and transportation KPIsMonitor the development/maintenance of the Receiver General's paymentReview for correctness and submit to Finance for payment of monthly invoicesResolve HS code inquiries and other customs related issuesAssign classification of new products as requiredMaintain Item Master (Item creation and substitutions)Work on specific projects as determined by managementEnsure that SRD guidelines are adhered to at all timesEscalate issues to next management level if requiredMust possess the following skills and experience:
3-5 years of experience in Transportation (Road, Air and Ocean Export)Strong knowledge of Canadian customs regulations (B13, Certificate of Origin, Commercial Invoice)Proven experience with database maintenance techniquesEffective decision maker with exceptional attention to detailStrong ability to plan, organize and coordinateProven track record working with ERP systems (i.e. Visual or comparable)Proficiency using Excel, MSWord, Access & OutlookHighly developed analytical and research skillsStrong organizational, priority setting and communication skillsSelf-starter with strong customer service skillsMust have ability to function effectively in a results oriented, fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentCompetitive attitude with a drive to succeedMust be totally Bi-lingual English/FrenchResumes to
