Overview
The SLT will be responsible for providing assessment and intervention with individuals with speech, language and communication needs and swallowing. The role is an integral part of the Prison Mental Health team within the wider Health and Justice SLT.
Responsibilities- Provide an exemplary and comprehensive assessment of SLCN for all eligible referred individuals.
- Deliver communication advice and strategies in relevant format to individuals and their supporters.
- Offer meaningful therapy input where appropriate.
- Raise awareness and improve workforce knowledge and skills in SLC needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, key agencies, prison teams, Alcohol and Drug Recovery agencies, Education and Employment services and Probation.
A degree in Speech and Language Therapy and significant experience in Speech and Language Therapy, especially with service users in mental health or learning disabilities with complex needs.
