Job Title:Clinical Lead – Psychology
Grade:Band 6
Location:Morpeth, Northumberland
Working Hours:37.5 hours per week

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6 Clinical Lead Psychologist to join our esteemed NHS client’s team in Morpeth, Northumberland. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and experienced professional to take on a leadership role in delivering high-quality psychological services within a secure environment. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately on a short-term contract.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a team of psychological professionals and support staff
  • Deliver advanced psychological assessments, formulations, and evidence-based interventions
  • Coordinate and manage caseloads, ensuring high standards of care and service delivery
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised care plans
  • Support service development and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with professional standards
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to junior staff and trainees

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent)
  • HCPC registration – essential
  • Proven experience in a Band 6 or senior psychology role
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical governance
  • Prison clearance – essential
