The challenge

As a #Traffic Transformer apprentice you work on real‑life projects while following a guided learning journey and experience different areas of the business.

The candidate

Basic Skills

What you can make a difference in
  • Ensure proper and timely installation of traffic signal assets and ancillary equipment.
  • Use relevant hand tools, power tools, working at height and manual handling aids safely.
  • Collaborate with customers and contractors onsite.
  • Complete works to required quality standards and site specifications.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults on traffic signal assets and covered equipment.
  • Deliver reactive and proactive maintenance tasks with high quality.
  • Perform installation, replacement, and set‑up of traffic signal assets.
  • Carry out remedial works following incidents such as road traffic collisions or equipment failure.
  • Submit high‑quality clearance notes via the Fault Management System and other digital platforms.
  • Adhere to contract requirements, response & repair times, and scheduled works.
  • Book time following the Variable Pay Policy – Field Services and Live Time Booking process.
  • Meet minimum requirements of the Highway Electrical Registrations Scheme (HERS) and progress towards the associated NVQ level.
  • Complete mandatory National Highway Sector Scheme training and product equipment training.
  • Support a positive Health & Safety culture (task risk assessments, reporting, equipment checks, lone working device use).
  • Accurately collect and process data for fault‑free equipment analysis.
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with site specifications, on time, and to sufficient quality.
  • Adopt new business policies and processes positively.

Minimum Education al Requirements
  • 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Desirable:
    Keen interest in Engineering.
Right to Work

Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the apprenticeship. Yunex Traffic cannot sponsor individuals not already authorised to work in the UK.

Recruitment Process

Applications close on 16th February 2026.

Process includes an in‑person interview (and possibly a virtual interview or assessment centre). Assessment centres may feature group tasks, individual interviews, presentations, and role simulations.

Apprenticeships start on Tuesday 1 September 2026, so availability from that date is required.
