AV Technician

Role Overview
The AV Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio-visual systems for events, programming, and daily club operations. This role supports live performances, talks, screenings, DJ nights, private events, and hybrid experiences, ensuring everything runs smoothly without drawing attention to the tech itself.
You’ll work closely with Programming, Events, F&B, and external vendors to deliver seamless experiences in a hospitality-led environment.
Key Responsibilities
Event & Programming Support
- Set up, operate, and dismantle AV equipment for live events, performances, screenings, talks, workshops, and private hires
- Handle sound, microphones, mixers, speakers, projectors, screens, basic lighting, and playback systems
- Support DJs, performers, speakers, and facilitators with technical requirements before and during events
- Be on-ground during events to troubleshoot issues in real time
Daily Operations
- Ensure all AV systems in member areas, event spaces, and meeting rooms are functional at all times
- Conduct pre-event checks and sound checks as required
- Maintain consistent sound levels aligned with hospitality and member comfort standards
Equipment & Maintenance
- Maintain inventory of AV equipment, cables, mics, mixers, and accessories
- Coordinate basic repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and usage of all AV equipment
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with external AV vendors when larger setups are required
- Work closely with Events, Programming, and Operations teams on timelines and technical needs
- Communicate clearly with performers and internal teams in a calm, service-oriented manner
Compliance & Safety
- Follow electrical safety norms and basic sound regulations
- Ensure setups do not obstruct guest movement or compromise safety
Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in AV operations, preferably in hospitality, clubs, live events, studios, or performance venues
- Strong understanding of sound systems, microphones, mixers, and basic lighting
- Comfortable working during evenings, weekends, and event-heavy days
- Ability to troubleshoot quickly under pressure
- Service mindset with an eye for detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with live bands, DJs, performers, or spoken-word events
- Familiarity with hospitality or member-focused environments
- Basic knowledge of hybrid or recorded setups is a plus
