Email Infrastructure & SMTP Server Specialist - System Engineer

Location: Mumbai (on-site occasionally, remote-support capable)

Role Summary: We're looking for a skilled Infrastructure & SMTP Server Specialist who can fully set up, manage, and secure a high-volume email delivery infrastructure from scratch, including SMTP servers, IP pools with rotation, domain authentication, DNS management, and remote-access configuration. This role requires deep expertise in email server technologies, network architecture, and cybersecurity best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, deploy, and manage a robust, high-volume SMTP infrastructure on bare-metal servers.
• Configure IP pools, perform IP warming, and implement dynamic IP rotation strategies for optimal deliverability.
• Set up and manage domain authentication processes (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Ensure DNS propagation, domain latching, and seamless customer domain integrations.
• Configure and manage load balancers (HAProxy/Nginx).
• Implement and manage queue systems (Redis/Rabbit
  
  MQ/Kafka) for email throughput.
• Collaborate closely with developers to integrate backend logic and database systems.
• Implement security best practices, ensuring infrastructure security, data protection, and regulatory compliance (GDPR/CCPA).
• Set up comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Configure remote access (VPN, SSH) securely, allowing remote administration from international locations (e.g., UAE).
• Document configurations, architectures, and operational procedures clearly and thoroughly.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 5+ years experience in managing SMTP servers, email deliverability, IP rotation, and DNS management.
• Strong hands-on experience with Postfix, Exim, Power
  
  MTA, or similar SMTP software.
• Proven experience managing load balancers (HAProxy/Nginx).
• Proficiency with DNS configuration and management, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC.
• Demonstrable experience with security implementations (firewalls, SSL/TLS, VPNs).
• Experience with queue management solutions (Redis/Rabbit
  
  MQ/Kafka).
• Solid knowledge of Linux systems administration.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred:

• Previous experience working with email marketing platforms or high-volume email-sending services.
• Understanding of backend programming languages and databases (Node.js, Python, Java, Go, Postgre
  
  SQL/MySQL).

Availability:

• Immediate availability is preferred.

Work Mode:

• On-site (Mumbai) for initial setup and occasional maintenance, otherwise capable of remote support and administration.
