Major role and responsibilities

- M&A and Direct tax advisory on complex issues such as merger, demerger, spin-offs, business transfer etc.
- Preparation / review of transaction documentation
- Conducting direct tax due diligence
- International tax advisory with a specific focus on BEPS, MLI, GAAR, DTAA, domestic tax laws and FEMA/ regulatory issues.
- Inbound and outbound structuring.
- Treaty interpretations.
- Carrying out research on varied income-tax issues including preparation of Case for Opinions for briefing senior counsels on complex direct tax issues.
- Preparing deliverable in the form of slide-deck, opinion, note and memo.
- Direct tax litigation assistance including drafting submissions and briefing senior counsels.
