Our client, a leading global management consulting firm, is driving multiple manufacturing transformation programs across the automotive, industrial goods, and discrete manufacturing sectors in India. These programs focus on improving throughput, strengthening operational efficiency, and elevating manufacturing excellence across large-scale production plants.
They are looking to onboard an experienced Manufacturing Consultant who can partner closely with plant teams and consulting leadership to diagnose performance gaps, redesign processes, and implement high-impact improvements directly on the shop floor.
Key responsibilities:
Lead or support manufacturing excellence initiatives across production lines, with a strong focus on throughput improvement and cycle time reduction
Work directly with plant operations teams to identify bottlenecks, analyse data, and drive structured problem-solving
Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to deliver measurable operational improvements
Manage end-to-end responsibility for project modules as part of a cross-functional consulting team
Facilitate workshops and collaborate with plant leadership to secure alignment and buy-in for proposed solutions
Contribute to diagnostics, process mapping, solution design, and implementation planning across operational areas
Your background:
5–15 years of experience in manufacturing or plant operations within automotive, industrial goods, aerospace, machinery, or other discrete manufacturing environments
Strong exposure to shop-floor operations, production processes, and daily operational challenges
Demonstrated impact in operational excellence, Lean transformations, throughput enhancement, or productivity/cost optimisation
Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving capability, with hands-on experience improving manufacturing KPIs
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering;
Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred
Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders and communicate effectively with plant leadership

Location:
Flexible across major Indian cities, with travel to plant sites as required
Contract duration: 12 months initially, with potential extension based on performance and project pipeline
Engagement type: Full-time contractual role, working closely with consulting and plant operations teams
