To ensure operational compliance, financial accuracy, inventory integrity, and adherence to company policies across retail stores through regular audits and process evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
Store Audit & Compliance
- Conduct periodic store audits (scheduled & surprise) across assigned locations
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, policies, and statutory requirements
- Verify store operations, cash handling, billing practices, discounts, and returns
- Check visual merchandising standards and brand guidelines adherence
Inventory & Shrinkage Control
- Perform inventory audits, cycle counts, and stock reconciliations
- Identify stock variances, pilferage, damages, and process gaps
- Monitor shrinkage levels and recommend corrective actions
Financial & Cash Audit
- Audit daily cash reports, bank deposits, petty cash, and POS transactions
- Validate sales reports, discounts, refunds, and gift vouchers
- Ensure accuracy in GRN, stock transfers, and inter-store movements
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and risk areas
- Prepare audit reports with observations, root causes, and recommendations
- Follow up on audit closures and corrective action implementation
- Support process improvement initiatives and loss prevention strategies
Coordination & Support
- Coordinate with store managers, operations, finance, merchandising teams
- Assist in investigations related to fraud, theft, or policy violations
- Support internal and external audits when required
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of retail operations and store processes
- Understanding of inventory management and POS systems
- High attention to detail and analytical mind-set
- Good communication and report-writing skills
- Integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality
- Willingness to travel extensively
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in any field
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in retail store audits / internal audit / loss prevention
- Experience in multi-store/Luxury retail environment preferred
Tools & Systems
- ERP / Retail POS systems (SAP, Oracle, Navision, etc.)
- MS Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
- Audit checklists and reporting tools
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Audit coverage vs plan
- Reduction in inventory shrinkage
- Closure rate of audit observations
- Accuracy of audit findings
- Improvement in store compliance scores
Travel Requirement
- 70–80% travel across store locations
