Role Overview
The Mobile Application Tech Lead will be responsible for leading the strategy, design, and development of mobile applications across Android, iOS and cross-platform frameworks. This role involves managing both in-house developers and external vendors to deliver high-quality, scalable and performant mobile solutions aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mobile application development for iOS, Android, and React Native platforms.
- Manage and mentor an in-house team of mobile developers, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices and performance benchmarks.
- Oversee third-party development vendors, ensuring timely delivery, code quality, and framework alignment with internal standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend teams to define features, technical architecture and release timelines.
- Own mobile app performance, security and scalability, continuously improving stability and user experience.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines for mobile app deployment across development and production environments.
- Maintain oversight of app store submissions, updates, compliance and user feedback management.
- Stay updated on emerging mobile technologies, frameworks, and libraries to drive innovation and efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in mobile application development, with at least 2+ years in a lead or managerial role.
- Strong command over native Android development (Kotlin/Java) and native iOS development (Swift/Objective-C).
- Hands-on experience with React Native and integrating native modules where required.
- Proven experience managing external vendors and offshore development teams.
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture, design patterns (MVC, MVVM, MVP) and RESTful API integrations.
- Knowledge of mobile analytics, performance monitoring, and debugging tools (e.g., Firebase, Crashlytics, App Center).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Fastlane, Jenkins, Bitrise, or Git Hub Actions).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with mobile app security, authentication flows and data encryption.
- Exposure to mobile testing frameworks (Appium, XCTest, Espresso).
- Prior experience in e-commerce, retail or consumer technology domains.
