Senior Logistics Specialist - Customs Clearance

Job Overview
The Senior Logistics Specialist – Customs Clearance is responsible for managing and executing import/export operations, ensuring compliance with Indian customs regulations, and coordinating with broker, freight forwarder, internal and external stakeholders to guarantee timely and accurate shipment clearance.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Customs Operations:
Oversee end-to-end customs clearance for import/export shipments.
Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and port authorities.
Ensure accurate documentation (e.g. B/L, P/L, Invoice, licenses, and certificates) and necessary information (PO, price, terms) for goods import to ensure all are compliance with customs requirement.
Monitor and maintain valid import/export licenses.
Compliance & Regulation:
Stay updated on Indian customs laws, tariffs, and international trade agreements (e.g., WTO, FTA).
Ensure adherence to trade compliance policies and SOPs.
Manage customs audits and inspections.
Stakeholder Coordination :
Liaise with customs officials, CHAs (Custom House Agents), and regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, finance, supply chain) to align logistics goals.
Serve as the point of contact for escalations and risk mitigation.
Data, Record Keeping & Reporting:
Maintain accurate shipment records and customs declarations.
Generate performance reports and recommend process improvements.
Track KPIs like on-time delivery rate, clearance cycle time, and declaration accuracy.
Claims and Return
Handling claims on insurance issues
Handling of return shipment to factories
Freight/Customs Bill Clearance
- Submit payment application for duty, freight forwarder and customs broker, etc.
Others logistic relative job

Minimum Requirements
4–8 years of experience in logistics, customs clearance, or international trade.
Strong knowledge of Indian customs procedures, HS codes, and tariff classifications.
Proficiency in ERP systems and customs software.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Attention to detail and analytical thinking.
