Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of mechanical systems for Lidar and photonics-based products. This role involves creating enclosures, optical alignments, thermal solutions, and precision fixtures for prototypes, validation setups, and production systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including optics, electronics, and test to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

• Design mechanical components (housings, mounts, brackets, heat sinks) optimized for photonics and optical alignment.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for manufacturing using Solid Works, Creo, or similar tools.
• Support rapid prototyping and hardware integration, including 3D printing and CNC fabrication.
• Perform tolerance analysis, thermal simulations, and mechanical stress analysis specific to optical systems.
• Work with suppliers to ensure DFM and high-precision assembly for optoelectronic modules.
• Collaborate with optics, electrical, and packaging teams to meet structural and thermal constraints.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical design for optical, photonics, or high-precision electronic systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, Creo, AutoCAD); knowledge of thermal and structural simulation tools is a plus.
• Experience with Lidar systems, optical alignment, or photonic packaging is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronics integration, PCB constraints, and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration skills.
