Job Overview

Senior Material Corrosion Engineer (MUS
0146) – Worley – Muscat, Oman – Full‑time Agency Contractor.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Materials Corrosion Engineers to deliver project activities on time and meet QMS requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring design integrity, quality of deliverables, and interface management.
  • Develop and control corrosion control strategy, validate corrosion loops, and conduct risk‑based inspections.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, Design Reviews, IPF classifications, and HSE workshops.
  • Implement ISO 9001 quality management system and ensure seamless handover of deliverables.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and client personnel to satisfy project needs and prepare requisitions.
  • Review and provide feedback on design standards, coatings specification, and cathodic protection systems.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and support audits and findings related to materials and corrosion management.
Specific Requirements
  • 15+ years in Oil & Gas with 10+ years in Engineering Design (Concept / FEED / Detailed).
  • Demonstrated experience in Materials Selection, corrosion analysis, and corrosion management programs.
  • Experience in cathodic protection design, installation, and risk‑based inspection.
  • Experience in painting and coatings specification.
  • All ranges of metallic and non‑metallic materials.
  • Ability to lead material selection and corrosion protection strategies on onshore projects.
  • Strong technical review, risk assessment, and lifecycle evaluation skills.
Education & Qualifications
  • Professional membership of an internationally accepted professional body (e.g., ASME, SME).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas; preferred experience in the Middle East.
