Our Ideal Candidate
Allnorth's Nanaimo Team is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise across a wide variety of complex multi-discipline industrial engineering studies and detail design projects. Delivering innovative technical solutions within allocated schedules and budgets, you will be actively involved in project delivery including, quality assurance, support for proposal development and client engagement. You may also be actively involved in the technical analysis aspects of projects (depending on your background).
Working collaboratively with other Allnorth groups you will have the opportunity to successfully deliver on Fiber & Chemical Industries related projects for clients throughout the region.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, and a proven ability to collaborate with team members and clients in a multi-disciplined environmentMechanical and Piping Discipline Lead role, taking overall responsibility for the project design requirementsTechnical competency and strong attention to detailExperience with project development and execution in an industrial environmentDesign and field experience in the Pulp & Paper, Mining, Oil & Gas and/or related process industriesPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical EngineeringRegistered as a P.Eng in the province of British ColumbiaRegistered or eligible to register as a P.E. in any US state is highly desired7-10 years mechanical and piping experience, ideally in a consulting environmentEngineering and design experience within a multi-discipline 3D model workflow/environmentExperience with ASME B31.3 and B31.1 piping codes, API 650, ASME Section VIII Div 1, NFPA codes, CSA Z662 and CSA B149 is desiredExperience with the design registration of power piping systems and pressure vessel design modifications with the safety authority is an assetExperience with sizing, selection and layout for process equipment for the process industriesExperience with developing procurement datasheets, specifications and engineering/construction work packages;Design experience with engineering software packages such as Pipe Flo, Auto Pipe, Caesar, Compress, Tank, AFT Arrow, AFT Impulse and Solid Works FEAWhat’s in it for you?
