Working under the guidance of the Program Manager and alongside a supportive team, you’ll play an essential role in helping people achieve their goals, participate fully in community life, and build meaningful relationships.

The Role
  • Support adults with daily living activities including health, nutrition, recreation, personal care, and community participation
  • Assist with developing life skills that promote dignity, independence, and quality of life
  • Apply positive behavioral strategies and crisis intervention techniques, recognizing behavior as communication
  • Collaborate with families, community partners (MCFD, CLBC, VIHA, Behavior Consultants, etc.), and your team to provide holistic care
  • Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing are always maintained
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with the people you support, their families, and your colleagues
What You Bring
  • Diploma or Degree in Social Services, Community Support Work, or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting individuals with diverse abilities (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and remain calm in high-stress situations
  • Personal suitability to foster dignity, independence, and individuality
Requirements
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License, and personal vehicle.
  • RCMP Criminal Record Check & MCFD Hub Screening (employer facilitated).
  • First Aid with CPR, Food Safe Level 1.
  • 3 reference letters (including one from your most recent employer).
  • Immunization record or exemption, TB Screen, and Physician’s Declaration.
