Sommelier de Rang: Fine-Dining Wine & Service Expert

To sell, serve and actively promote wine sales, ensuring all guests receive quality wine service in The Dining Room.

• Work with the Sommelier team to provide seamless and professional service during lunch and dinner service
• Be fully conversant with wine list, menus and beverage items in the hotel and to provide a confident explanation if requested
• Engage with guests and provide recommendations to complement guest’s palates and meals
• Be confident with wine and beverage knowledge, describing and upselling where possible
• Take ownership of running a section throughout service, responding promptly and courteously to our guest’s needs
• Take pride in ensuring the cleanliness of all wine service equipment and storage areas as per Chewton Glen’s standards

• Previous experience working as a Sommelier de Rang/Junior Sommelier is desirable
• Experience working in a fine dining restaurant is desirable
• Good understanding of wine and passion for developing and expanding knowledge - WSET desirable
• Enthusiasm and charisma is key
• You will have keen eye for detail, organisational skills and confidence in communicating with the team
