An exciting opportunity has arisen within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board's Primary Care Contracting Team. We are seeking a highly motivated Band6 Contract Manager to join our Contracting Team, supporting the delivery of Primary Care Services, in particular General Dental Services across the Health Board.
As the Primary Care Contract Manager , you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred primary care services. You will support a broad agenda focused on service improvement and robust contract management.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working within Primary Care, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a flexible and proactive approach to managing challenges.

Main duties of the jobThis is a key role within the Primary Care Contracting team at a time of exciting changes within Dental Services.
The post holder will take a key role in supporting the Service Development Manager with the planning, development and delivery of effective and efficient Dental services in Primary Care.
As such they will be responsible for collaborating and negotiating with contractors, service providers and professional committees to identify and achieve service development and improvement, evaluating through performance management and lead the production and delivery of specific plans and projects to meet the healthcare needs of the local population.

Person Specification Qualifications and/or Knowledge- Educated degree level or relevant experience
- Post graduate diploma or management qualification and/or equivalent experience in the primary care area
- Must demonstrate commitment to learning and continuous development.
- Knowledge and understanding of Primary Care contracts and how they are applied.
- Knowledge of information and budgetary management.
- Knowledge of Project Management principles and implementation of associated action plans.
- Strong understanding of government policy in relation to health and social care.
- Experience of managing and mentoring staff.
- In depth knowledge of current issues in Primary Care and clinical governance.
- Experience in consultation and negotiation.
