This is a great opportunity for a newly qualified professional who enjoys a blend of financial reporting, controls, and tax compliance, who wants to gain experience within FP&A.
You'll be part of a wider finance structure, working closely with local finance and shared service teams to make sure the numbers are right, the controls are tight, and deadlines are consistently met.
The Financial Accountant Role:- You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day financial accounting and control.
- Owning the integrity of the ledgers and ensuring results are accurate, well supported and compliant with both local and US accounting standards
- Supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements and acting as a key contact during the year‑end audit
- Assisting with the preparation and review of corporation tax and indirect tax returns, working closely with internal tax colleagues
- Playing a hands‑on role in the month‑end close, helping to deliver timely, well‑explained results
- FP&A focus, producing forecasts and budgets.
- Using large data sets, dashboards and analytical tools (e.g. Power BI).
- Building strong relationships with finance teams in the UK, shared service centres and group finance stakeholders.
- A big part of the role is about making sure the control environment is robust and well documented.
- Ensuring key balance sheet and P&L controls are designed and operating effectively
- supporting process improvement initiatives
- Supporting statutory accounting officer requirements, tax control frameworks and documentation of tax risks
- Assisting with HMRC queries and audits as they arise
- Newly qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent)
- Experience in a finance function or accounting practice, ideally with exposure to multi‑entity or multinational environments
- Comfortable working with big data , confident using advanced Excel and large data sets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – able to explain complex issues clearly to non‑finance stakeholders
- Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- Naturally proactive, self‑driven and keen to improve processes rather than just operate them
- A hybrid working pattern, typically 2 days per week in Berkshire.
- Exposure to both local and US GAAP.
- Exposure to FP&A
- Bonus
- Healthcare
- Enhanced pension
