An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and passionate Nurse to join our North Alliance Wound Care Clinic Service.

We are a professional, skilled and friendly team who work safely with our patients in North Staffordshire to provide innovative, high quality, evidence‑based wound care.

Our service operates Monday‑Friday (including Bank Holidays) - 08:45 - 17:00. We have 16 clinics across the North Staffordshire locality. You may be expected to travel to different Clinic sites as not all clinics operate each working day. You will be provided with a base clinic at one of our sites.

Main duties of the job

You will be providing holistic care to patients who attend our Wound Care Clinics, including assessment, planning and delivering care in line with our Trust's Tissue Viability Treatment Pathways. You will be able to work autonomously within policies and guidelines, as well as, working effectively within the team.

By joining this supportive and dedicated team you will have the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge of wound healing, factors that prevent healing and to provide optimum care for patients with a wide variety of wounds.

There will be training provided to enhance your skills to enable you to work as an independent clinician providing high quality patient care.

Job responsibilities

Working in collaboration with the multi‑disciplinary team and colleagues to:

  • Assess, review and complete wound care for patients.
  • Provide a plan of care using wound care policies and pathways for guidance utilising the wound care dressings formulary.
  • Liaise with Wound Clinic Leadership team and Tissue Viability specialists when indicated.
  • Providing holistic assessment of patients' needs making onward referrals where required.
  • Ensure safeguarding needs are met and escalated where indicated.
  • Supporting junior staff and students in achieving their learning outcomes.
