Main duties of the job

The fellow will spend their time integrated into the Major Trauma inpatient service at the RVI, providing cover expected of ST1‑2 level. Alongside the trauma geriatrics consultant, ED consultants, and specialist nurses the successful applicant will care for patients based primarily on the trauma ward (ward 23), together with older patients admitted under neurosciences and other trauma active specialities.

The posts will develop skills in holistic care and multi‑speciality working that are relevant to all branches of medicine and surgery. At the RVI there is the opportunity to join grand rounds and to attend weekly teaching delivered via Emergency Medicine. The OPM weekly teaching is currently held in the FRH but the opportunity to scenario remotely from the RVI site is in development.
