Job DescriptionSenior Technician – Bridges and Structures – Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom. Join our team to support increasing workloads through hands‑on inspections and surveying of road and rail bridge structures.

- Conduct structural inspections of road and rail bridges and prepare detailed reports.
- Perform site dimensional and topographical surveys for inspection, refurbishment, or replacement projects.
- Apply surveying techniques including level, EDM and point‑cloud.
- Develop method statements and safe systems of work for site inspections.
- Maintain certifications for ladders (Ladder Association), IPAF harness user, and scaffold erection (PASMA).
- Experience preparing drawings for rail and road bridge and structural engineering schemes, from inspection to detailed design.
- History of supervising technicians where appropriate.
- Background in preparing reinforced concrete and steelwork detail drawings.
- Ability to produce GA and defect drawings, interpret site notes, and liaise with engineers.
- Support overall design, modelling and layout of road and rail structures.
- Excellent technical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
