BMS Engineer

Position: BMS Engineer (Permanent)
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression.

Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a BMS Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

We are looking for a BMS Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

The BMS Engineer, will be responsible for:

* Maintaining the site Building Management System and other computerised control systems.

* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, testing, diagnosis, repairs, and calibration of advanced electrical and mechanical installations, plant, and equipment.

* Ensuring the BMS is fully optimised for maximum energy efficiency.

* Producing monthly energy reports and providing data for quarterly and annual energy reports.

* Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and industry Health & Safety policies and procedures.

* Maintaining accurate estates records and plant history.

To be successful for this BMS Engineer role you must have:

* Knowledge of large-scale BMS systems.

* Knowledge of standard electrical wiring and installation practices, electronic components, and electrical schematic symbols.

* Knowledge of general HVAC installation and operation.

* Understanding of third-party BMS interface protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and M-Bus – desirable.

* Strong computer skills and experience using Windows-based applications.

* Completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship.

* A relevant qualification such as City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent.

* IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations 2381 – desirable.

* City & Guilds 2391 electrical installation inspection and testing.
