Principal Civil Engineer

This client is a large, multi-disciplinary and award-winning client who is on the hunt for a principal Infrastructure Engineer to join their Newcastle office. Are you looking for a new role? If so, then this could be the vacancy for you!

You will work within a team supporting the production of designs and drawings for construction projects and associated technical reports in support of planning applications and to/though construction stage of projects. You will be working on a variety of exciting roles which include healthcare, residential, education, leisure etc.

• Preferably a Civil Engineering degreeand either be Chartered or approaching Chartered status with experience in highway and highway drainage design
• Strong post graduate experience in a civil engineering working environment
• The ability to produce masterplans, site appraisals, write reports to support planning applications, design calculations and construction drawings
• A solid engineering foundation and an understanding of highway design and highway drainage principles (layout, etc.)
• Experience in using Civils 3D or PDS (or similar software packages) together with experience in applying Highways England/DMRB and Local Authority design guidance
• Experience in design of drainage using Info Drainage and a background in Water Company related work inclusive of the relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, DMRB and Local Authority Design Guides, and to be well versed in the preparation of drawings for Contract Documents and requisite technical agreements
• The ability to work effectively with colleagues including more senior and junior staff in producing designs, drawings and reports is essential.
