Development Engineer We currently have an excellentopportunityfor a Manufacturing Development Engineer to join a a growing engineering company, based in Lymington. Introduction The primary role of the Manufacturing Development Engineer will be to improve the manufacturing processes which will involve the design to concept level adaptations for machinery and automation which will reduce cost and improve he speed within the manufacturing areas.
There will be an element ofhands-on working with manufacturing equipment , machinery and automation and prototype development. Previous development or manufacturing engineering experience,composites experience is ideal however not essential. Also astrongcontinuous process development background improving processes or developing new manufacturing methods would be beneficial for this role. Responsibilities Manufacturing & Process Development Identify, develop, and implement manufacturing process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost. Design and deliver new or improved manufacturing processes, from concept and prototyping through to commissioning in production.
Drive both step-change process innovations and incremental continuous-improvement activities. Support the transition of R&D concepts into repeatable, production-ready processes. Automation & Equipment Development Develop and validate automation concepts to proof-of-principle and prototype stage. Specify, design, and commission manufacturing and automation equipment, working with external machine builders and integrators where required. Collaboration & Delivery Work closely with engineering, operations, and quality teams to ensure manufacturing solutions meet product and business requirements.
Manage technical work packages with a structured, project-based approach. Ideal
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical capability, hands on approach, continuous improvement, ability todesign to concept stage of machinery, equipment, automation and implementation and CAD experience. Any composites experience will be an advantage.
