This is a Head of Financial Reporting job for a project-based services business based near Newcastle, reporting to a Group CFO. The organisation has over 20 years of history and ambitious plans to grow and develop, with a need for a robust Head of Financial Reporting who can manage financial controls, lead relationships with banks, debt providers, auditors and related parties, and ensure systems and projects are led effectively.

You will be an ACA-qualified accountant, likely from a Big Four firm, with at least 3 years PQE in industry as an accountant. You will be conversant with IFRS regulations and lead a financial team’s compliance with accounting and audit procedures. The role requires commuting near Newcastle 4 days a week (1 day from home) for a largely on-site job with flexibility for appointments, etc.

This Head of Financial Reporting role is for a Group CFO who is looking to delegate responsibilities to focus on strategy, growth and potential M&A opportunities. You will have the opportunity to become Group Financial Controller in the short to medium term while learning from a Chief Financial Officer who wants to mentor and develop someone into a number-one in finance in due course.

• Ability to commute to the Newcastle area four days per week (on-site with occasional flexibility)

• Manage financial controls and reporting for the organisation

• Lead relationships with banks, debt providers, auditors and other key stakeholders

• Ensure systems and projects are led effectively and in compliance with accounting and audit procedures

• Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategy, growth and potential M&A opportunities
