A fast-growing technology organisation in Newcastle, created through a joint venture between global consulting and investment leaders, is looking for a Technical Lead to join its newly formed engineering team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Technical Lead who values remaining hands‑on while guiding others, contributing to complex, high‑impact initiatives in a challenging, delivery‑driven environment.

About the role:

As a Technical Lead, you’ll work closely with engineers, stakeholders and end users to design and deliver high‑quality software at pace, while helping shape technical standards and team culture from the ground up.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading and mentoring a small team of software engineers
• Remaining hands‑on with development and owning end‑to‑end delivery
• Translating business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions
• Collaborating closely with client teams to deliver shared outcomes
• Driving innovation and continuous improvement
• Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends
• Strong programming experience in C#/.NET, Java, Rust or Python
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• A proactive problem‑solver with energy, ambition and ownership mentality
• Experience delivering software projects from start to finish
• A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

Financial Services experience is beneficial, not essential
