On behalf of DWP, we are looking for an IT Service Transition Manager for a 12‑month (Inside IR35) hybrid contract based up to 3 days per week in Newcastle.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working‑age, disability and ill‑health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers.
The core purpose of this IT Service Transition Management role is working in Live Service to support a number of critical Benefit Payment Services.
Key Responsibility- Apply Service Management principles to a portfolio of Live IT Services of differing technologies, focusing on maximising Service Availability.
- Service Transition Management – responsible for managing the transition of new and existing services through the service transition process, embedding into the live DWP Digital environment support arrangements, ensuring operational readiness, stakeholder coordination, and minimal impact on existing services in line with Service Management policy and procedures.
- Service Management Tooling – to perform effective Incident, Problem and Change Management.
- Customer Service Management – supporting the needs of Agents and Customers in the Business.
- Service Management experience in large‑scale IT, layered multi‑supplier organisations and services.
- Experience in working with Business Stakeholders to deliver IT service excellence.
- Experience of applications using different hosting solutions (e.g., Cloud & Data centre).
- Proven experience of transitioning new and refactored services into an established Live Service team.
- Knowledge of a Service Management Framework e.g. ITIL.

Any rates of payment quoted will reflect the gross rate per day for the assignment and will be subject to appropriate taxes and statutory costs.
