Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Equans is looking for an Accounts Payable Team Lead to join the AP team based from our office in Quorum Business Park on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What will you deliver?
Lead, manage and support the Accounts Payable team ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable process.
Oversee, review and authorise the payment of non-PO invoice payments.
Manage the OCR solution including appropriate levels of validation are carried out on a regular basis.
Ensure all invoices are processed in line with Service Level Agreement and maintained below a specified level.
Manage the submission of aged invoices with suppliers to ensure good housekeeping is in place.
Keep abreast of all relevant legislation in relation to the Accounts Payable service.
Ensure there is daily investigation into issues/quality errors in relation to invoice processing.
Manage and resolve queries in line with SLAs and communicating with key stakeholders where necessary.
Ensure all risk is managed in line with INCOME controls and other risks identified.
Comply with finance processes, controls and regulatory framework – always. Ensure areas which could potentially adversely affect the business are expediently highlighted to management.
Identify opportunities for process improvements.
Identifying training & development needs for the team.
Encourage cross training & development.

Who are we looking for?
Previous experience within Accounts Payable is highly desired.
SAP would be beneficial but not essential.
MS Office including Word & Excel.
Demonstrable experience leading teams in a similar environment.
Leader and motivator.
Excellent planning and administration skills.
Examples of innovative behaviour.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to manage in an environment where high levels of change are a given.
This role includes a Basic DBS check therefore ability to pass is essential.
