Camp Coordinator - General (Summer Camps 2026)
Working with the Town of Newmarket’s Recreation and Culture Team means the opportunity to make a difference and connect with your community! Working in Recreation means the start of something special, gaining valuable work experience and learning new skills. We are looking for dedicated individuals who enjoy working with others with a passion to deliver high quality programs, events and services.

Job Requirements- Post‑secondary education in a related discipline (such as Recreation and Leisure, etc) combined with progressive experience in recreation programming and/or related equivalent experience.
- Experience in a supervisory role in related field.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, public relations and time management skills.
- Class “G” Driver’s Licence in good standing and a reliable vehicle for corporate business.
- Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate with co‑workers and deal courteously and effectively with staff, participants, parents/guardians and the general public.
- Strong working knowledge of computers in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook);
Xplorexperience is an asset. - Current Standard First Aid & CPR‑C certification required.
- Current High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development) certification required.
- Behaviour Management Systems, Safe Management or Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification required.
- Lifesaving Society’s Safeguard certification required.
- Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town (Those 18 Years & Older) or the completion of Declaration of Minors – Working with Vulnerable Individuals Self Declaration Form (Those 17 Years and Younger) is required.

Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification.
