Location:

Newport, South Wales, U.K. This position involves leading and advancing Vishay’s proprietary wide bandgap semicondutor technology within the power device product portfolio.

• Lead the product engineering team and collaborate with technology and product development teams to enable manufacturing release.
• Characterize new product performance prior to manufacturing release.
• Develop and maintain engineering databases.
• Develop and monitor Statistical Process Control systems for production products.
• Disposition of Wafer sort and Final test; yield enhancement.
• Support engineering teams with New Product Introduction.
• Change control related to products in production.
• Collaborate with reliability and quality teams for analysis of RMA and customer returns.

• A PhD or Master’s degree in semiconductor device/material physics or related fields.
• At least 10 years of experience in the field of power semiconductors.
• Detailed knowledge of semiconductor product life cycle, device characterization, device qualification, pre-production support, release to volume production and product sustenance.
• Strong data analytical skills in the evaluation and characterization of power semiconductors.
• Experience working with SiC or other Wide-bandgap semiconductor devices strongly desired.
• Yield analysis and circuit debugging experience with 6-sigma quality practices is a plus.
• Comprehensive background in power semiconductor materials / device physics and fabrication process.

• Logical, structured approach to tasks with the motivation to develop novel and creative ideas.
• Strong communication skills enabling seamless collaboration with manufacturing partners and internal teams; ability to build and maintain relationships in international, cross-functional project teams.
