At McAllister, a Vortex Company, we are looking for a General Manager to take charge of our Northern Ireland / Ireland operations and lead a dynamic team to deliver excellence in trenchless technologies and environmental infrastructure services.

As General Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving operational performance, leading regional strategy, overseeing contracts and delivering high‑quality service for our clients across multiple service lines. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and work closely with the UK & Ireland Managing Director and the wider Vortex International Group to implement business strategy and ensure best‑in‑class delivery across the region.

• Lead all operational activities across the NI & Ireland region.
• Oversee performance across safety, quality, productivity and financial KPIs.
• Drive commercial success and client satisfaction across multiple contracts.
• Lead and mentor senior leaders including Heads of Operations and Commercial.
• Champion health & safety and ensure full regulatory compliance.
• Promote a culture of innovation, performance and continuous improvement.
• Lead forecasting, budgeting and regional financial reporting.
• Work cross‑functionally with Fleet, HSQE, HR and Group functions.
• Represent McAllister at key regional forums and with strategic clients.

• Minimum 5 years’ senior leadership experience in utilities, trenchless or civil engineering.
• Proven commercial and operational acumen with P&L responsibility.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Northern Ireland infrastructure or environmental sector.
• Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
• Strong understanding of H&S, compliance, and operational risk management.
