Groundworks Quantity Surveyor - Newton Abbot

I am working with a family-run Groundworks & Plant Hire company, based in Newton Abbot and operating across the South West, who are looking to appoint a Groundworks Quantity Surveyor to join their friendly and supportive team.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation
• Manage project costs from feasibility through to completion
• Assess and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Strong understanding of contract administration
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure cost efficiency
• Prepare progress reports, valuations and final accounts
• Support Project Managers to ensure commercial success
• Manage tender enquiries
• Maintain accurate databases of rates, suppliers and cost information

• Proven QS experience within groundworks/civils
• Strong knowledge of cost control principle
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and tools like Bluebeam
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tender deadline
• Full UK driving licence

• Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 DOE
