We are now looking for a Contracts Manager to join our team in Torquay on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

What you’ll be doing

As the Contracts Manager, you will lead our residential developments from land acquisition through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and to the highest standards.

Reporting to the Director of Construction, you will take ownership of programme, quality and cost performance across a portfolio of sites, providing strong, visible leadership to Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers, Forklift Drivers and Operatives.

Working closely with subcontractors and internal teams, you will champion consistent quality in construction, communication and collaboration, ensuring information flows smoothly across the business.

Additionally, you will:

- Manage and motivate site-based teams to achieve agreed targets and milestones
- Build effective relationships with subcontractors to support delivery and performance
- Monitor progress against budgets and programmes, addressing issues proactively
- Act as a visible advocate for quality, safety and best practice across all developments

Who we are looking for

To join us as our Contracts Manager, you will need:

- Previous experience in the house building industry in a managerial capacity
- Experience managing subcontractor relationships
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as Health & Safety, NHBC requirements, CDM and Building Regulations
- Knowledge of construction methods, defect management and quality control processes
- The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and programmes
- Strong communications and collaboration skills
- A relevant construction industry qualification
