Job description:
Job Title - Research Associate (Gujarati)
Duration - 2 months
Job Summary
The Research Associate would be expected to conduct data collection efforts within designated districts, primarily involving interaction with teachers, Headmasters/Headmistresses, and other pertinent stakeholders. Skillfully observe classroom activities, meticulously documenting qualitative observations in alignment with predetermined guidelines. Prepare and organize collected data into the specified format, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and clarity. Collaborate with the research team to ensure a coherent and insightful representation of collected data.
Maintain a rigorous travel schedule, necessitating regular visits to diverse regions within Gujarat
Essential Functions
The candidate will perform the following key functions:
Responsible for collecting data through participatory and qualitative methods (such as FGDs and IDIs).
Transcription of collected qualitative data from local language (Gujarati) to English.
Preliminary coding of qualitative data and support in analysis and report writing.
Participation in dissemination of results to stakeholders.
Training, coordination & management of on-field data collection team.
Any other task in congruence to above

Desired profile
Education - Graduate in Social sciences or any other related field with experience in qualitative data collection and preferably qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
Personal Competencies
Fluency in Gujarati
Strong communication skills
Proficiency in note taking and the organization of qualitative data.
Administering qualitative and quantitative instruments
Adaptable and willing to travel extensively to different areas of Gujarat for data collection purposes.
Prior experience in educational research or classroom observation is advantageous but not mandatory.
