The Role
As a 2D CAD Designer, you’ll play a key role in creating custom product designs using AutoCAD 2D. Your work will support both customer proposals and the manufacturing process within an on-site production facility. You’ll liaise directly with customers and suppliers to develop design solutions, prepare quotations, and ensure projects meet the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings for bespoke product designs.
Prepare works orders and specifications for production and suppliers.
Collaborate closely with customers to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Support continuous product improvement initiatives.
Occasionally visit client sites to assess requirements first-hand.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and design principles.
Communication
Skills:
Confident in dealing with customers and suppliers, both verbally and in writing.
Problem-Solving Ability:
Logical, methodical, and able to work to deadlines.
Flexibility:
Willingness to travel occasionally and adapt to seasonal workload changes.
Business Awareness:
Understanding of good business practices and technical sales experience.
A clean driving license and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. Experience in technical sales and manufacturing environments would be a bonus.
