Responsibilities

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. You will monitor the wellbeing of each resident, be involved in the person-centred care planning process, support residents with their medication requirements, and undertake staff supervisions and support staff with their development.

You will act as a key point of contact for residents, their relatives and visitors, and health and social care professionals, ensuring reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are escalated.

  • Monitor the wellbeing of each resident and update care plans as needs change.
  • Involve in the person-centred care planning process, including monitoring and monthly evaluations.
  • Support residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertake staff supervisions and support staff development where required.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, relatives, visitors, and health/social care professionals.
About you

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years of experience in a similar care environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
