Overview
We are recruiting a CAD Technician to join our dynamic Water Consultancy team operating across the UK. You’ll work on AMP8 and AMP9 projects, ensuring exceptional water services in a collaborative environment.
About The TeamRPS Water Consulting is a team of engineers, designers, modellers, and data analysts providing asset management and operational strategy development to our water industry clients to support business planning and delivery. About You- You will be experienced in liaising with design teams to understand project needs and will be able to work with different disciplines to produce a quality output. You will have a high level of attention to detail and be passionate about the quality of your work.
- You will be experienced in producing drawings, models, schedules and diagrams at all stages of the project lifecycle, and will have worked in the water industry and ideally for a range of clients and to a range of CAD and design standards.
- You will have a reasonable understanding of how water and wastewater treatment processes, networks and pipelines operate.
- Relevant experience working in an engineering consultancy, preferably within the water industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and similar packages for creating and modifying technical drawings.
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Revit would be an advantage.
- Experience in civil and structural design, reinforcement detailing and MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) design.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in drawings and compliance with industry standards.
- Understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the water industry.
- Familiarity with construction methods, equipment and materials used in water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, treatment plants, and storage facilities.
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) and integration of CAD with data management software and add-ins, including intelligent P+IDs.
- A full driving licence.
- Work on a wide variety of projects across major long-term frameworks with water companies and contractors across the UK.
- Seek to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community.
- Work closely with other senior and principal engineers and other stakeholders supporting project delivery.
- Prepare and produce engineering drawings, and assist engineers in preparation of technical details.
- Assist in training junior staff or new team members on CAD software and best practices.
- Ensure quality assurance systems and procedures are followed.
- Compliance with and development of CAD standards and standard CAD blocks.
- HNC in a relevant engineering subject or equivalent
