Area Sales Engineer – Industrial Electrical Control & Automation

On behalf of our Client we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Engineer/Area Sales Manager with a proven track record as a business developer and excellent salesman in the Electrical Control and Automation industry to join the team of this first class business.

The successful candidate will be selling a range of high quality Industrial Automation products – PLC, Control Gear, Switchgear & Circuit Protection, Variable Speed Drives, Sensors, HMI and Process Instrumentation – into the OEM, End User, System Integrator and Panel Builder markets throughout the North of the Tyne area, including North Shields, Whitley Bay, Wallsend, Longbenton, Jesmond, Cramlington, Blyth, etc., suitable as base locations.

Responsibilities
  • Sell Industrial Automation products into OEM, End User, System Integrator and Panel Builder markets across North Tyne.
  • Achieve defined sales targets and develop a personal plan to meet objectives.
  • Manage and further develop an existing portfolio of accounts while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Operate autonomously, maintain excellent organisation and communication skills, and work effectively as a team player.
  • Use Microsoft packages competently to support sales activities.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record in sales and business development within the Industrial Automation industry.
  • Sales and technical experience in Industrial Automation, with a record of sales success and achievement.
  • Formal qualification in an Electrical/Electronic discipline to ONC/HND or above preferred but not essential.
  • Additional career development training in sales skills desirable.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft packages.
