An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Mainstream Fostering Team as a Supervising Social Worker for a fixed term period of 12 months. This full‑time post is a part of the Fostering Service, which also includes the Supporting Kinship Team and the Kinship Assessment Team.

Working within the wider Fostering Service enables you to benefit from the support and experience of your supervising social worker colleagues and benefit from an experienced management team. We are looking for an experienced social worker with a minimum of one year post qualifying experience in statutory social work.

The Mainstream Team supports our Foster Carers to care for children and young people who are unable to live with their birth parents and or families, whether this be for short or long‑term periods.

The Mainstream Team are responsible for undertaking assessments of potential applicants to become Foster Carers, supporting them through their training and annual reviews, helping carers build networks with other Foster Carers through the Fostering Social Group and social events hosted by the Fostering Team, and develop models such as the Mockingbird Model for our children, carers and young people.

You will have excellent interpersonal and assessment and report writing skills.
