Senior Buyer – Residential Developments – £50k – £55k plus package

My client who is a residential developer who specialises in luxury high end traditional build houses and apartments. They are looking to expand their team with the addition of an experienced Buyer to step into a Senior position for their prestigious developments within the Northampton/Bedford area.

An office based position, you will report into the Commercial Manager/Director and work closely with the procurement team on their current/new residential developments of new build homes.

As a Senior Buyer you will be procuring materials to meet the build programme of this project.

Some of your duties in this role are as follows:

• Procuring brickwork, carpentry and sanitary materials
• Hiring plant e.g. cabins, forklifts, fencing, cranes etc.
• Compiling monthly reports on budgeting control on all materials
• Resolving supplier disputes
• Support the estimating team with pre-tender quotations and resolve material specification issues

Experience Required

• At least 5 years of procurement experience with a residential property developer
• Experience with procuring materials for new build developments.
• Sound knowledge of construction techniques
• Comprehension of building, environmental and disability standards
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
• Proven track record and have shown stable UK employment and have residential construction experience with a recognised developer.
