Service Engineer

Overview

Mechanical Service Engineer / Maintenance Engineer - Packaging Machinery, Industrial Capital Equipment. A classic field service role involving repair, refurbishment, upgrades, installations and commissioning of a range of packaging machinery supplied to the food, pharmaceutical and other manufacturing industries. Travelling to client sites 70% of the time, and spending 1 to 2 nights away from home per week on average; weekend work is voluntary so we offer a good work life balance.

Time spent at the workshop in Corby roughly 30%.

LOCATION:

Covering the UK & Ireland 70%, but factory based in Corby 30% of the time.

• Repair, maintenance, service and support of industrial equipment, including packaging machinery.
• Refurbishment, upgrades, installations and commissioning of machinery at client sites.
• Travel to client sites (approx. 70% of the time) with 1–2 nights away per week.
• Work with clients in the food, pharmaceutical and other manufacturing industries.

• Experienced Field Service or Maintenance Engineer of industrial or special purpose machinery.
• Qualified Mechanical Engineer / completed a full mechanical apprenticeship.
• Any electrical engineering qualifications or experience would be a bonus.
• Exposure or hands-on experience with packaging machinery is advantageous, ideally in food or pharmaceutical sectors; however, other special purpose industrial machinery experience is acceptable.

A small and well established British engineering company providing full after sales and service support to the clients of a major Italian packaging machinery manufacturer. This role is a new position to cover for future retirement.

This is a client-facing role with a longstanding relationship; it is a good place to work. It is likely you will have held roles such as Field Service Engineer, Site Based Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Multiskilled Engineer - Industrial Capital Equipment, Special Purpose Machinery, in sectors including PPMA, Automate UK, Packaging Machinery, Process Machinery, Food, Pharmaceutical, Medical, Chemical.
