EDM Machinist

EDM Programmer | High-Performance Engineering / Motorsport

We’re supporting a high-performance engineering programme seeking an experienced EDM Programmer to join a precision‑led manufacturing environment producing complex, safety‑critical components. This role requires strong technical judgement, a disciplined programming approach, and the ability to deliver right‑first‑time solutions under demanding timelines.

• Program and operate EDM machines (Wire and/or Sink EDM) to produce complex, high‑tolerance components
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications to generate accurate programs
• Optimise machining strategies to achieve dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and efficient cycle times
• Work closely with design, manufacturing, and inspection teams to resolve technical challenges
• Carry out first‑off prove‑outs and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain high standards of quality, process control, and machine care

• Proven experience as an EDM Programmer within motor sport, aerospace, or high‑precision manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of wire EDM and/or sink EDM processes and tooling
• Confident reading complex engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances
• Methodical, detail‑driven approach with a strong quality mindset
• Able to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative production environment

• UK‑based high‑performance engineering environment
• Contract and permanent opportunities available
• Shift patterns may include days, nights, or weekends depending on production demand
