As we continue to grow, we have opened a position for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Transport Manager to join our dynamic team and help ensure the smooth running of our transport operations.

The Assistant Transport Manager will play a key role in supporting the Transport Manager with the day-to-day management of transport operations. This includes overseeing fleet operations, coordinating logistics, optimising delivery routes, and maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. The role requires someone with strong organisational skills, a passion for logistics, and the ability to work well in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Pattern
  • Rotating shift, Monday to Friday.
  • Week 1: 06.00 – 16.00
  • Week 2: 09.00 – 19.00
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Transport Manager in overseeing all transport operations, including fleet scheduling, delivery tracking and route planning.
  • Supervise, motivate and manage a team of drivers and other transport staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained, perform regular checks on fleet condition and assist with organising repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Monitor and ensure timely, accurate deliveries while adhering to customer requirements and expectations.
  • Assist in managing transport costs and identifying cost‑effective opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track transport performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with internal teams and third‑party providers to coordinate and improve supply chain operations.
  • Ensure that all transport activities comply with legal regulations, environmental standards and company policies.
  • Help prepare and maintain reports related to transport performance, costs and vehicle status.
  • Support the recruitment, training and development of transport staff, including drivers and warehouse teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any transport‑related issues or emergencies to minimise disruption to operations.
Key Skills & Experience
  • A professional certification in transport management (e.g., CPC qualification) would be an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in transport or logistics, preferably in a supervisory or assistant management role.
  • Strong understanding of transport operations, fleet management and logistics planning.
  • In‑depth knowledge of health and safety standards, transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and foster a positive, efficient working environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with transport management software (e.g., fleet tracking, scheduling systems) is an advantage.
  • A valid driver’s licence and clean driving record are desirable.
