Responsibilities
- Provide general nursing care including injections and immunisations (including childhood and adult vaccinations)
- Undertake cervical screening in line with NHS Cervical Screening Programme guidance
- Support management of chronic diseases such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension and coronary heart disease
- Carry out health checks and screening programmes (e.g. NHS Health Checks)
- Provide travel health advice and vaccinations
- Support contraception services, including pill checks
- Recognise, assess and refer patients with deteriorating health or safeguarding concerns
- Promote healthy lifestyles including smoking cessation, weight management and physical activity
- Provide advice on diet, exercise and disease prevention
- Support self‑management of long‑term conditions
