Location:
Norfolk
Working Hours:
08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: up to £45,000 per annum DOE
Our client is a well‑established automotive service provider with a modern, well‑equipped workshop supporting both customer vehicles and an internal light commercial fleet. Known for quality workmanship, strong training opportunities, and consistent weekday hours with no weekend rota, they are currently looking for a Light Vehicle Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will carry out servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and MOT preparation on a variety of cars, vans, and light commercials, ensuring all vehicles remain safe and roadworthy.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine servicing, inspections, and mechanical repairs on cars, vans, and light commercial vehicles.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Maintain workshop cleanliness, safety procedures, and correct handling of tools and equipment.
Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to plan and complete repair work efficiently.
Accurately complete all job cards, service sheets, and repair notes using workshop systems.
Support customers or service staff with technical insight when required.
Carry out tyre fitting, minor electrical work, and general mechanical tasks as needed.
Key Skills and Experience
Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (NVQ / City & Guilds / IMI)
Strong background in diagnostics, servicing, and mechanical repair of cars and light commercials.
Ability to identify worn or faulty components in line with industry and safety standards.
Confident use of diagnostic tools and workshop systems.
Full UK Driving Licence.
High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
