Business Development Manager

Location: UK & Ireland (Extensive travel required)
Salary: Competitive + Bonus + Benefits

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to act as the first point of contact for all designated Service Partner locations across the UK and Ireland. This is a highly influential and consultative sales position, responsible for driving new business growth, nurturing key client relationships, and supporting our expanding network of fleet partners and road service providers.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment and bring a strong commercial mindset to a role that combines sales strategy, networking, tender management, customer engagement, and hands‑on project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales Strategy

  • Develop and execute effective strategic sales plans to drive adoption of our solutions across the UK and Irish road transport industries.

  • Generate new business through a measurable pipeline of prospects using strategic planning, targeted lead management, networking, and direct outreach.

  • Prospect for new clients, network at pan-UK events, and pitch services both face‑to‑face and virtually.

  • Negotiate at all levels, including C‑suite, to win new business and secure competitive commercial terms.

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities with secure truck parking providers, truck wash facilities, and other road service partners.

Account Management & Relationship Building

  • Deliver high‑quality account management visits to support growth and efficiency with fleets and Service Partners.

  • Become a trusted partner to logistics customers, ensuring solutions evolve with their operational needs.

  • Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with key customer accounts and internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and customer service to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Address customer concerns, inquiries, and feedback promptly and effectively.

Commercial & Operational Excellence

  • Negotiate commission terms, contract re‑signs, and commercial levers to increase utilisation of partner locations.

  • Conduct commercial discussions to secure favourable terms for fleets and upsell value‑added services.

  • Support adherence to departmental targets, KPIs, and bonus scheme guidelines.

  • Review and highlight opportunities to increase commissions across the Network.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on site opportunities and financial performance of new locations.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Work closely with the UK Commercial and Customer Service teams to achieve shared revenue goals.

  • Build strong, positive relationships with colleagues across the business and wider group.

  • Contribute to a collaborative, enthusiastic, and flexible team culture.

  • Engage in continual professional development through relevant learning opportunities.

Health & Safety & Compliance

  • Act as an authority on Health & Safety best practices for customers and colleagues within the industry.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safe working procedures at all times.

  • Wear appropriate PPE when visiting sites and advise on hazards or unsafe conditions.

About You

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar Business Development / Sales role.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute and complete plans effectively.

  • Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel extensively with overnight stays as required.

  • Confident dealing with senior stakeholders, including C‑suite executives.

Desirable:

  • Experience with in the logistics, fleet, or road transport industry.

  • Degree in Business Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
