Overview

We are supporting a leading food manufacturer in the recruitment of a Site Engineering Manager
. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all engineering activities on site, ensuring high standards of reliability, efficiency, compliance and safety across production operations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineering manager looking to join a progressive and well-invested manufacturing operation, where engineering excellence and continuous improvement are core priorities.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all engineering operations across the site, ensuring maximum equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Develop, implement, and optimise effective preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
    .
  • Partner closely with production, operations and technical teams to ensure engineering performance supports business goals.
  • Lead, mentor, coach and develop a multi-skilled engineering team.
  • Drive a strong safety-first culture
    , promoting compliance with all regulatory and industry standards.
  • Manage engineering budgets, reporting, contractor relationships and capital investment planning.
  • Lead engineering-based improvement and optimisation projects to increase performance, efficiency, process capability and cost control.
  • Ensure CMMS data integrity and report on KPIs, asset performance and maintenance activity.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and innovation aligned with operational growth plans.
Experience & Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven engineering leadership experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical and automation systems within a production environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing engineering teams.
  • Track record delivering improvement projects and engineering strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety compliance within manufacturing.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing budgets and capital project planning.
  • Competence using CMMS systems and analysing performance and maintenance data.
  • Continuous improvement / lean manufacturing awareness.
