Join Us as a Senior Counsellor – Make a Real Difference in Norfolk and Waveney

Are you an experienced counsellor passionate about supporting mental health and developing others? We’re looking for a dedicated Senior Counsellor to join our Low-Cost Counselling Service, a vital community resource providing accessible, affordable counselling to those facing mild to moderate mental health challenges.

Our service is primarily run by committed volunteers and trainee counsellors, and as Senior Counsellor, you’ll play a key role in clinical leadership, supervision, and operational support — helping to shape the future of counselling provision across Norfolk and Waveney.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide expert clinical supervision, including case management and group sessions, to trainee counsellors, ensuring safe, professional practice in line with NICE and service guidelines.
  • Oversee referrals and conduct initial assessments, liaising closely with colleagues.
  • Support the development and quality improvement of the service through active participation in team meetings and stakeholder engagement.
  • Deliver counselling to a small caseload of clients, working both in community venues and virtually.
  • Deputise for the Service Manager, taking on operational and financial oversight responsibilities.
  • Lead and inspire a team committed to accessible mental health support.
Who You Are:
  • A qualified and experienced counsellor with a passion for supervision and clinical leadership.
  • Committed to high professional standards and ongoing professional development.
  • Skilled in risk assessment, case management, and delivering constructive feedback.
  • Comfortable working flexibly across community settings and online.
  • A collaborative team player ready to contribute to service growth and community impact.
