Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and clinically driven Senior Physiotherapist to provide advanced physiotherapy assessment, treatment and discharge planning for patients within General Medicine and Cardiology services. The post holder will work within the respiratory physiotherapy team across Surgery, Respiratory Medicine and Critical Care. Cross‑cover required; broad acute experience post qualification on rotations necessary. Proven clinical skills with on‑call and weekend working.

You will support junior staff, assist with teaching and supervise juniors.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality physiotherapy care to patients requiring care within the critical care environment.
  • Independently assess and manage a caseload of patients with complex respiratory care needs.
  • Effective communication skills, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong understanding of best practice guidelines.
  • Strong clinical decision making.
  • Teaching and supervision skills.
Qualifications
  • Diploma / degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (UK).
  • Significant postgraduate experience as a Physiotherapist in a post with broad‑based rotational opportunities. Candidates should have experience in all core areas, however those offering less experience, but meeting all other criteria, will be considered on their merit.
  • Postgraduate experience in areas relevant to the clinical specialty.
  • Student or physiotherapy assistant direct supervision.
  • Ability to take an active role in the development of physiotherapy services.
  • Able to work as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Proven clinical skills in relevant specialist areas.
  • Proven clinical skills required to undertake on‑call and weekend working.
